Pool maintenance is of real concern but it can be eased with the filtering techniques that are in use. There are many ways of keeping pools clean. Use of cleaners, vacuum pumps, covers and filters have always fascinated pool users. Among these filters has proved to be the most effective means for execution of cleaning process. The use of cartridge filters of brands like Jandy, Intex and Pentair are very much in use.

On installation of pool filters, it is very important to check regularly whether they are clogged. It is good to brush and clean the filter interiors whenever they are taken out for a check. Always spray jets of water from a hose to release stacked impurities on the cartridge filtering medium. This is vital for the maintenance of your pool filter. It is not always necessary to use muriatic acids and chlorine to clear the dirt accumulated on the cartridge surface. Only if the impurities are too hard to be removed then acid use is required. Skimming the filtering medium may also work but then there is always the chance of damage to cartridges.

Using replacement filter cartridges is a very wise means of keeping pools safe. The reason is the pores of the new filtering medium always remain capable of trapping dirt particles that are microscopic in size. In old cartridges, some leakages may occur due to depletion of the medium. So, using new filtering medium helps to keep the water balance intact. The pH, alkalinity and chlorine levels then stay normal when tested.
